"There shall be a Church School in every local church. The mission of the Church School in the African Methodist Episcopal Church shall be to teach, train, nurture, prepare, and recruit adults and children in God's word for Christian service, emphasizing those Christian principles which are essential for effective Christian growth and participation. This teaching and training shall be designed to prepare them for and assist them with effective living and Christian leadership in a changing society."

Mt. Pisgah Church School is available every Sunday at 9:30 AM for all ages for lessons and study of the Bible and Christian teachings and principles. We have classes every Sunday with the exception of special days when we have programs, which include skits, plays, poems, recitations, etc. Lots of teaching and learning takes place in Mt. Pisgah AME Church School.
Our Church School also takes educational, cultural, and recreational trips. We have gone to Mother Bethel AME Church to the tombs of Richard and Sarah Allen; to the African American Historical and Cultural Museum; to the New Jersey State Aquarium; on a trolley ride touring Historic Philadelphia sites; to Lindvilla Orchards for hayrides, visiting the animals, and to shop. We also have an annual picnic, where we have gone to such places as Hershey Park, Dorney Park, Dutch Wonderland, Clementon Park, Brandywine Picnic Park, and we are now trying Neshaminy State Park. So, although we are very dedicated to learning as much as we can about the Bible, we also enjoy fellowshipping together outside of the church.
The Church School has also been supportive of church programs and organizations. We have helped monetarily with many projects around the church including the window project and refinishing the floor of the Church School room. The Church School has assisted the Young People's Department monetarily and with their projects, assisted monetarily with Vacation Bible School, we have sent youth and adults to the Christian Education Congress, we donate to the El Shaddai Greater Works Ministry, and we give generously to support the total program of the church.
Mt. Pisgah AME Church School is under the leadership of Brother Ernie Davis, who serves as Superintendent, and Brother Doug Clark who serves as Assistant Superintendent. Both of them, along with Sister Cheryll Morris-Davis, are very active with the West/Mainline District Church School and attend district meetings regularly to make sure Mt. Pisgah Church School is an active participant in all West District and Philadelphia Conference Church School activities. We also have a dedicated group of officers and teachers.
Mt. Pisgah Church School invites persons of all ages to come and become a part of this tremendous learning experience.
